Specific beats polite

Working across cultures, I caught myself softening a message so it would not feel uncomfortable.

It did not make it kinder. It made it confusing.

Mikael Krogerus changed what I thought clarity meant. Not simpler words. Concrete ones.

I still have to choose it every time. The comfortable sentence is always the easier one to say.
